Aug. 23rd - Ganges

This morning we went to the farmers market at 9:00 & met up with Jan & her sister. It was sunny & around 66. It got up to about 75 today.
We walked around the market - bought a selection of cheeses & a couple of sauces made by a vendor who is writing a cook book. Then we went to the grocery store to buy a few things to get us through the rest of the boat trip. Came back & Rod washed windows & I vacuumed & cleaned up the cat room. Chardonnay has become the messiest eater ever...do you think it's an old age thing??? We think in cat years that he's in his 80's altho he's about 16 in people years.
Jan & her sister came by for bloody marys (Rod makes the best!!!) & we visited until they left about 1:30. Tonight they are going to Hastings House for dinner & we are going to House Piccalo. We go there every year - it's in a small house & we love their food. I spent some time up on the flybridge this afternoon, reading & napping. Rod walked the docks & visited with various boaters.
Our dinner was delicious, as usual. I had gravlax for an appetizer & sable fish for dinner. Rod had capaccio & a beef fillet with a 4 pepper sauce. We shared their homemade vanilla ice cream with chocolate truffle sauce...yum!!!
