Aug. 19th - Pender Harbour (Garden Bay) SYC Outstation

It was 64 at 6:30 this morning. Took the sunscreens down last night & Rod disconnected our electrical cords from Jon's boat & removed the I-5 ramp between our boats this morning. We left at 7:15 - Harv was in front of us & Jon was pulling anchor when we left. They are both towing their fishing boats & Jon tows his dinghy as well.
Arrived at Pender at 1:00pm, the wind got up to 15 knots on the way here. This was the first time this summer, I've used my sea wrist bands as I was feeling a little nausea even though the waters were not that choppy. It was 70' & cloudy when we arrived but the clouds burned off & it was 79' at 5:00.
Jon & Harv got here about 3:00 - Jon & Lois are at the Pub dock & Harv & Maggie are at Royal
Van. We took our dinghy over to Kippers right after they came in & visited with them.
The outstation filled up this evening - it was fairly empty when we arrived but now it's almost full. One of the boats that came in was Top Gun. Stan is a friend who gets his boat ready every year at a neighbor's in Shelter Bay. He's had a lot of trouble with his "new" boat this summer - generator isn't working & one of his engines wasn't working on the way down from Cortez so everyone was waiting to help him get on the dock.
Rod went to the Pub for dinner with Kippers & Harv & Maggie. I didn't go as my hip/leg has really been bothering me the past couple of days & it's hard to sit for very long. Hopefully this will go away! Tomorrow night we are getting together for salmon on someone's boat.
